  2. Prepare 1 egg

  5. Take 1 tbsp sesame oil

  7. Prepare 1 tbsp sunflower oil
  8. Make ready 1 tsp dark soya sauce

What goes in egg fried rice? When it comes to fried rice, there are a couple key ingredients as well as a few no-so-obvious flavors that help accent the taste.   3. Set aside, roll up and cut into 1cm ribbons.
  4. Wipe out the pan add remaining oils, gentle heat finely chopped white heads of spring onion and garlic to flavour the oil and soften (don’t allow to colour or burn) add additional sesame oil if needed. Remove from heat
  5. Drain cooked rice, rinse through with a boiled kettle to get rid of excess starch then add in to onion, garlic infused oil. Stir through season with soya sauce (light preferably) and cracked black pepper. Cook on a high heat to warm through add egg ribbons in. Cut green tops of the spring onions and sprinkle over to serve.

The rice came out pretty tasty for homemade Chinese food but it was a bit too salty for my palate. Egg fried rice is fast & affordable dish that I can whip it up on any. Breakdown rice and mix it with the eggs. A day old cold jasmine rice is my absolute favorite to make fried rice. Add soy sauce around the edge of the wok, so it will burn slightly for the smoky umami flavor.
