  18. Prepare 1 tsp coriander seeds

Punjabi Style Matar Paneer Recipe: Cubed and fried paneer chunks, sauteed with peas, green chillies along with a host of spices, tomatoes and ginger garlic paste. Matar paneer is a classic vegetarian curry of Indian cheese and peas cooked in a tomato-based sauce. Frying the cheese until golden makes a big difference to the flavour and texture of the curry so don't. Matar paneer is a delicious curry made of paneer cubes and fresh peas cooked in a rich, spicy and tangy gravy.

Instructions to make Matar paneer:

  1. Making masala paste. In a grinder take all the ingredients chopped onion, tomato, ginger, garlic,cloves, green chilli, peas, cinnamon, cashewnuts,coriander leaves and coriander seeds.
  2. Grind all the ingredients to a smooth paste
  3. No need to add to water grind until no small bits of cashews remain in the paste.
  4. Heat oil and add cumin seeds and add masala paste cook masala paste until the oil separates from the paste.
  5. Add all fried spice powder. Red chilli,turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder stir well.
  6. Add water and salt cook for 10-12 mins then add some water and simmer
  7. Add the paneer cubes simmer for 1-2 mints on low flame also add sugar just before adding paneer cubes.
  8. Garnish matar paneer with coriander leaves.
  9. Serve matar paneer with Roti, naan, rice
